Description

There can never be too many pug stamps in the world!

That's my pug, Otis. :D I know he is not the prettiest pug in the world any more, being fourteen and quite gray and snaggletoothed...but innit he cute anyway?? :boogie: Of course he is.

Aww, Otis looks just like our oldest pug, Lola! The cute graying face and the shiny brown eyes looks a ton like her.

...Though poor Lola's health has been declining as of a few months ago, unfortunately... :(

She contracted dysplasia (which is like a painful arthritis/crippling disease that can cause lameness) in her hips, so she can't walk anymore and has to remain stationary (except for shifting herself around with her front legs and paws a little bit to get food and water). My dad makes sure to replace the padding she sits on everyday in case she messes because she's lost most of the control on her bladder and bowels, but thankfully she still eats and drinks a bunch. I still chat with her and pet her on the head like my folks to keep her happy, which is good.

...My dad did tell me yesterday after picking me up from college though that he did cancel her veterinary plan over the phone earlier because of her health and age. He told me it was real hard to do (and i can imagine)... I believe him and mum are gonna put her down soon at the vet with that injection stuff so she can go peacefully and painlessly.

It's definitely taken a toll on all three of us. Lola was my first dog.
Though she did live a long and happy life. I think she's lived to be... around thirteen? fourteen? My dad said that he learned that's a pretty good life span for a pug, which is a relief.

...Man, though...
I'm gonna miss Lola so much... Thank god we own two other dogs (Stumpy and Dakota; both pug mixes! they're good boys) to keep us company.

It still really sucks though, because not only is she going to pass, but I'm also still reeling over the passing of my uncle back in October.

UUUUUUGH...
can life stop throwing shitty curveballs at me PLEASE :crying:
